If you currently have or are planning to install an alarm in your home or business, you must obtain and file an alarm permit with the City of St. Joseph. To obtain this permit you will need to go to City Hall, 1100 Frederick Ave, room 107, Financial Services. The fee is $25.00 for the full year and pro-rated accordingly. It is renewable each fiscal year (July 1st through June 30th).

Users are allowed six (6) false alarms per fiscal year, with no fines assessed. The next three (3) false alarms (numbers 6,7, and 8) will be assessed a fifty dollar ($50.00) fine. Each false alarm after the 9th will results in fines of one hundred dollars ($100.00) each occurrence.
